Read the introduction

Let me tell you a little about me. I'm Paul Diaz, founder of The Tax Cuttery. I'm an IRS Enrolled Agent, admitted to practice before the Internal Revenue Service, with an MBA in Accounting.

My approach is simple: understand the facts, explain the rules, and help you make a better decision. Planning, accurate preparation, and a well-supported response when the IRS writes all belong in the same conversation.

That's the thinking behind The Tax Cuttery Guide to Federal Income Taxation. Three sections covering the entire arc, so you can see how the pieces fit together.

Start with the Guide. Get to know the thinking behind the practice. And when you're ready, take the free consultation. I'm Paul Diaz. Welcome to The Tax Cuttery.

The Credential Behind the Firm

Paul D. Diaz is an Enrolled Agent (EA) — Admitted to Practice Before the Internal Revenue Service, licensed to represent taxpayers in all matters, including audits, collections, and appeals. He holds an undergraduate degree in Finance and an MBA in Accounting, plus graduate-level certificates including three from Harvard Business School and The Walt Disney Company's Disney Development program in collaboration with Harvard Business School Publishing. He is the founder of THE TAX CUTTERY®, a national federal tax firm serving high-earning 1099 contractors, single-member LLCs, and service-based agency founders — and an independent financial coaching practice.

What "Admitted to Practice Before the IRS" Means for You

An Enrolled Agent is the highest credential the Treasury awards for tax practice — and it is earned, not bought. An EA has unlimited representation rights before the IRS, including audits, collections, and appeals. Admission to practice before the U.S. Tax Court is a separate qualification. This credential supports the firm’s work helping taxpayers understand and respond to IRS matters.
